Today there will be no Oromo that is not happy for their neighbor and kin Sidaamaa. That this day did not come easily we know from what we had been hearing from Sidaamaa freedom fighters now alive and those that had passed. As Oromo freedom fighter we also know relations our organizations had. This writer knows partially efforts made in Sidaamaa education front. He remembers the struggle made to make Sidaamu Afoo language of education and work and for choosing own alphabet. It is not possible to overlook the day and night sweating of Amaanu’eel Dubbaala and Betna Huxxeessoo to make that realized.

In exile with these people he remembers also having extensive discussion in London and Paris on our nations’ freedom. Though Waldee passed without seeing this he hopes his children who were freedom fighters like him are alive to see it. These is not forgetting that all children of Sidaamu are his children.

I congratulate Betna to hear this while alive. I also remember the outstanding role a young teacher, Dasaliny Dersamo played in the education front, in particular leading a team for choosing the right alphabet and leading preparing Sidaamu teaching materials. I salute all for reaching this point. I salute you woman folks of Sidaamu, for the time has come to gather the bones of the great leader, Furaa from wherever they were scattered and put her in Sidaamu Palace. Don’t forget that she was common leader for Sidaamu and Oromo, though told differently Oromo calls her Akkoo Manooyee. The present Ejjettoo is heir to those of the 60s. Struggling to bring freedom is duty of generation. I salute you for being able bringing struggle of your forefathers to this day. Ejjettoo has always to be prepare for guarding the nation. The struggle is not over but concluded a chapter.

Finally, I would like to wish the people of Sidaamu that the coming years be of reconciliation, peace and happiness. Glory be to the martyrs who brought this day with their blood. Congratulations!

Long live Sidaamu!
